Good condition. Paper faintly browned. Verso: blank.
Note: a nice etching by Jan Chalon (1738-1795). Whereas it is clearly made in the manner of Rembrandt, we were not able to trace a 17th century original. Most likely this print is the own work of Chalon in the style of Rembrandt. There are some resemblances to ‘Self portrait in a cap and scarf with the face dark: bust’ (Bartsch 17) and ‘Self portrait with cap pulled forward’ (Bartsch 319). However, the New Hollstein catalogue does not mention this print as a copy of any of them.
